Kaguya-sama: Love is War is a Japanese romantic comedy manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. The anime adaptation of the series was released in 2019 and currently has three seasons.

The story revolves around two high school geniuses, Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya, who are the top student body representatives of an elite school. They both have feelings for each other but are too proud to confess their love, so they engage in a battle of wits to try and get the other to confess first. The series has evolved from its original competition-based premise to explore the complex inner lives of the characters and their feelings for each other.

Miyuki Shirogane, a third-year high school student, the president of the 67th and 68th Student Council, is the deuteragonist and male protagonist of the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai series. Despite his appearance due to sleep deprivation and nearsightedness, he is a handsome young man.

Chika Fujiwara, a third-year high school student at Shuchi'in Academy, is a character in the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai series. She is a member of the Tabletop Gaming Club and secretary of the 67th and 68th Student Council.

Yu Ishigami, a second-year high school student at Shuchi'in Academy, is the Treasurer of the 67th and 68th Student Council, known for his gloomy appearance and black hair.

Ai Hayasaka, a third-year student at Shuchi'in Academy and former Shinomiya Group maid, is a protagonist in the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai series. She changes her appearance and clothing to suit different roles.

Aka Akasaka is a Japanese manga artist and writer, most known for his series Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Oshi no Ko. He was born on August 29, 1988.

His series Kaguya-sama: Love Is War was serialized in Shueisha's Miracle Jump between May 2015 and January 2016, and was then transferred to Weekly Young Jump starting from March 2016. It was the 9th bestselling manga in Japan in 2019, with over 4 million copies sold. In 2020, he won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category with the manga. Following the end of Kaguya-sama, Akasaka announced on November 3, 2022, that he would retire from drawing manga to instead focus on writing.
